There were a number of problems with the old design
- Only one individual was updating the site making the content subjective and not representative of the whole council.
- All content was listed in the same category
- Plug-ins like photo album and video embedding were not user friendly
- Outdated WordPress theme
Transformation Results
Supa archived all content on the site and created a fresh website with the Content Management System, Joomla. Organized all content to separate in the categories: different affiliate news, council news and general labour news. We customize designed an easy video embed API using simple link recognition from YouTube and Vimeo. VLC-specific instructional videos were created to demonstrate how to manage the site. Finally, a mail listserver was developed for communications between the council and their members.
