Reasons for Change
In 2017, we converted an old WordPress site into a Shopify CMS. A large part of the project was integrating her blogger posts to reside under one domain.
By building a custom node server we were able to scrape large archives of blogger posts and original WordPress posts to import those in the Shopify site using post-structure. All the links were then updated to point to the new Shopify blog categories.
We connected the retail-backend inventory system with Shopify ecommerce platform using a third-party plugin.

Project Assessment
We met with the owner, Trish Tacoma for face-to-face consults in the spring of 2017. She wanted a full website redesign. We provided a few mock-ups of possible site layouts and designs and customized those to suit the Smoking Lily brand. We were very proud to create a beautiful site for a local, eco-friendly thriving business like Smoking Lily.
Cold Comfort – Coco’s provisions
In 2020 we converted an older WordPress theme to a modern WordPress template design and customized it to match Cold Comfort’s unique brand. An online shop was created for ecommerce using woo-commerce. We developed a custom app to turn the shop on/off to match retail hours. This app designated specific delivery zones for ice-cream delivery to different parts of the city on different days of the week.

Saanich International Student Program
This project required migrating a very old Wordpress theme into a modern site while preserving the functionality of a calendar, contact form, ASP application form, photo galleries, file management for user downloads and the creation of few new capabilities.

Transition Town Victoria
Transition Town Victoria is the Victoria, BC chapter of a global movement based in transitioning to a post-fossil-fuel society. Previously the site used a private social network platform called Ning. This had become too large and expensive to manage and was not being updated by the members so a more streamlined approach was needed.

Migrating this old site from WordPress allowed us to innovate and redesign many important features. Reorganizing the content by restructuring the menu and elimination old content that wasn't update and manage. Instructional videos were created so that people on the council could access the site through a simple toggle editor and manage all content.

Cheryl Turner needed a new website to promote her private counselling business. This website gave her the ability to create a blog, which she updates herself, manage her content and images through a simplified content management system.
